Tyrone BrewerVP, Global Oncology Commercial Strategy - Merck

    Tyrone Brewer is Vice President, Global Oncology Commercial Strategy at Merck. In this role, Tyrone is responsible for the global commercial strategy for genito-urinary (GU) cancers, gastro-intestinal (GI) cancers, hematology indications – including classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Primary Mediastinal B-Cell Lymphoma – and basket/umbrella trial studies. Tyrone also manages the mature oncology “In-line” brands which includes EMEND, TEMODAR, BCG and interferons. Tyrone responsibilities also includes oncology marketing services organization which provides marketing operations support. This organization includes marketing research, promotional management, launch planning support, multi-channel marketing, promotional medical education, and global oncology Learning and Development (L&D) team. In addition, he serves as the executive sponsor for LEAD (League of Employees of African Descent) Employee Business Resource Group. Tyrone joined the Oncology Customer Business Line in January 2016 as Associate Vice President Global Oncology Strategy and has led several major initiatives including the establishment, in collaboration with MRL, of the oncology congress strategy steering committee, the development and roll-out of the KEYTRUDA master brand strategy, the development of our oncology CBL Learning and Development capabilities and the successful management of our In-Line brands. Prior to this role, Tyrone served as the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) for Merck. In this role, Tyrone had global responsibilities for training/learning and development for >100,000 learners across all Divisions and Business Units of the Merck Enterprise. He also served as a member of the HR Leadership Team. Prior to the CLO role, Tyrone was the Global Brand Leader (GBL) for several different therapeutic areas. More recently, he was the GBL for the Respiratory Franchise managing the commercial and strategic planning globally for the portfolio of respiratory products. Prior to joining Merck, Tyrone worked for several healthcare companies including inVentiv Health, Johnson & Johnson, and Sanofi. Throughout his 20+ year career, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, business development, and operations for a variety of products and services.
